3D copy technology for aircraft engine
In recent years, with the rapid development of management science, 3D copy technology has been applied in a large number of manufacturing industries.
*The new development shows that Rolls Royce has tried to introduce the redefined production technology into the aircraft engine manufacturing industry.
Henner Wapenhans, the person in charge of technical countermeasures of Rolls Royce, said that compared with traditional production and manufacturing methods, 3D copying technology has higher design feasibility and production and processing speed.
”Henner Wapenhans cited as an example that the supply cycle time of some components is now about 18 months, but if 3D copying is used for production, it will be reduced to about one week.
However, the enterprise level has not yet announced and determined what module components will be manufactured with 3D copying technology.
At this stage, John Rishton, CEO of Rolls Royce, has already made up his mind to increase costs and improve efficiency so as to maintain market competition with rival companies such as General Electric Company (GE) of the United States.
